All new Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks come equipped with a larger, stronger and more functional truck bed for you to depend on and yes, it’s still made of high-strength steel. No matter how you use it – whether on the job site or working on a home project – your new pickup truck’s Durabed provides for space and capability to get the job done.
Starting on all new 2019 models, the overall volume of our new Silverado and Sierra pickup trucks has increased with the new design. The Short Box has over 9 cubic feet, the Standard Box has over 10 cubic feet and the Long Box has over 12 cubic feet more than the old design.
The bed floor has been improved using high-strength, low-alloy steel when increases strength and decreases overall weight. Keeping items secure in the bed has never been easier now that we have 12 standard fixed tie-downs. Even more impressive is that we’ve doubled the capacity rating for each from 250 lbs to 500 lbs. There are also 9 optional movable tie-downs rated at 250 lbs each for a total of 21 available tie-downs.
Using your truck at the job site just got easier with the available power outlet located at the rear of the bed on the passenger side. The outlet can handle items that are rated up to 400 watts.
Our new design pickup trucks now offer larger corner step rear bumpers, which makes it easy to get into the truck bed, even with an oversized work boot!
As you can see, our new pickup trucks can make your work life and your home life even better with their larger, stronger and more functional truck bed.
